The Relaunch of 888 Craft Beer to support the Building of Affordable homes in Baltimore City, Maryland, and the AdMerk Spaceship for Suborbital Tourism
As a child growing up in Les Cayes, Haiti, I was captivated by Bruce Lee’s Kung Fu movies. I dreamed of traveling to China to learn Kung Fu at the Shaolin Temple.
In 1980, my parents fulfilled my dream of attending school in Paris, France where I attended the College Eugene Delacroix at Paris 15.
In 2015, that dream came true when I spent a life-changing month in Chongqing, China.
On February 8, 2015, I met Jane, a Tai Chi teacher who welcomed me with open arms and spent Chinese New Year with her family in Yibin, China, in the Sichuan province.
Jane taught me not only the art of Tai Chi but also the deeper values of Chinese culture, including the beauty of community and tradition.
I was honored to spend Chinese New Year with her family, and during that time, I learned the art of toasting in celebration—a simple gesture that expresses joy, gratitude, and connection.
When I returned to Washington, D.C., in March 2015, I felt compelled to honor this unforgettable experience. That is how 888 Craft Beer was born.
In Chinese culture, the number 8 symbolizes luck, prosperity, and abundance, which is why the beer was named 888.
The launch of 888 Craft Beer took place at the Brooklyn Beer Festival in August 2015, followed by events in Shanghai, China, and Tokyo, Japan, later that year.
In 2015, I proudly introduced 888 Craft Beer, a brand born from passion and inspired by my personal journey. Brewed in Baltimore City, Maryland, it wasn’t just a beverage—it was a celebration of friendship and exploration.
In 2017 before I attended the International Craft beer festival in Beijing, China, my mom, Louise Marcelaine Aleandre, stated she was going to pass away and to come see her.
Therefore, I was obliged to grant her wish and adjusted my schedule to visit both, my Mom and Dad in Les Cayes, Haiti before traveling to Beijing, China for a craft beer show in August 2017.
From January to May 2019, I was blessed with a precious gift—five unforgettable months spent with my father, Dominique M. Augustin, who passed away in 2021 at the age of 93, and my mother, Louise M. Aleandre, who left us in 2020 at the age of 83.
It was a time that now feels like a treasure beyond words, a time I will always hold close to my heart. Every single day, from 7 am to 9 am, I visited my parents at their home in my hometown of Les Cayes, Haiti.
My mother, affectionately known as “Selo,” would light up the room with her warmth, and my father, with his gentle humor, would often look at her and say, “Oh Selo,” in a way that made us all laugh.
It was their love, their laughter, and their deep care for others that filled those mornings, and it is a memory I hold onto with all my heart. In their honor, I felt compelled to keep their legacy alive—their compassion for the less fortunate and their joy for life.
That's why I created the non-profit corporation: “Oselo,” a name that carries my mother’s and father’s spirit and a mission that reflects their love and generosity toward the less fortunate.
Oselo is not just a non-profit organization; it’s a tribute to my parents' belief in helping others.
Through affordable housing and groundbreaking scientific projects, we aim to make the world a little brighter, just as they did. I ask you, with all my heart, to join us in this mission—to keep the light of love, laughter, and care for the less fortunate burning forever and ever.
Today, I’m thrilled to announce the relaunch of 888 Craft Beer, this time with a greater purpose and an even bolder mission.
Now, the relaunch of 888 Craft Beer will do more than delight craft beer lovers—it will become a driving force behind Oselo Help Corp, a non-profit organization with a mission to build affordable homes in Baltimore City, Maryland and the suborbital spacecraft.
We aim to give families the chance to own their first home, restoring hope and stability to our neighborhoods. But that’s not all.
This relaunch will also fund an extraordinary endeavor—the construction of the AdMerk Spaceship, a suborbital spacecraft that will take individuals on unforgettable space tourism journeys beyond Earth's atmosphere.
This project isn’t just a dream; it’s a step toward making space accessible to everyone, expanding humanity's reach, and inspiring the next generation of explorers.
With every sip of 888 Craft Beer, you’re contributing to the future of rehabbing vacant homes in Baltimore City, Maryland to enhance Baltimore City’s communities and helping us launch our suborbital spacecraft into space.
Your support will bring us closer to building affordable homes in Baltimore City, Maryland for those in need and making suborbital voyages a reality for the world.
